The trek toward Everest base camp takes 16 days. From the day you land in Kathmandu till reaching Everest base camp, you’ll find yourself filled with diversified experiences. People, landscapes, culture, colors, and nature in your surroundings will make you enjoy & explore everything with equal interest.
Starting your day in Kathmandu exploring UNESCO world heritage sites, and temples - Pashupatinath temple, monkey temple, and Durbar squares will excite you for the ahead journey. On day three, you will take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla for about 45 minutes. Lukla is a place in the Khumbu region with an elevation of 2840m.
Then you start your trek towards Phakding, which will take approximately 3 hours. Phakding village lies in the Dudhkoshi river valley where villagers follow a simple and independent lifestyle. The next day, you continue your trek for about 5.5 hours to get to the Namche bazaar. Namche bazaar is also known as the gateway of Everest. Day 5, is an acclimatization day in the Namche bazaar. You will explore around Namche bazaar or the nearest village. Namche bazaar is a historic trading hub famous for Himalayan yak homemade cheese and butter. After sightseeing of ancient culture, and traditions and experience the heartwarming welcome, on the sixth day, you trek toward Tengboche Monastery at an altitude of 3860m. Tengboche is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Sherpa community. Here, you can stay overnight at a guest house.
